New York Immigration At 100 Days Into Eric Adams Administration

After new Mayor Eric Adams took over New York City, this article seeks to update on where immigration stands in New York after his first 100 days in office.

During his campaign, Adams come up with weRISE for immigrant communities – Raise Immigrant Safety & Empowerment. After election Adams named Manny Castro as Commissioner of the Mayors Office on Immigrant Affairs (MOIA).

Of Adams 11 agenda proposals focused on immigration only a few have shown any results so far.

The ex-NYPD Adams who tried to campaign as the anti-crime candidate – hard to imagine crime actually has gotten worse in these 100 days post Bill DeBlasio – also called for getting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers out of all city buildings and facilities.
