A gay couple in Brooklyn is suing New York City over what they claim is discrimination against them over fertility coverage based solely on the fact they are two men, The denial for IVF coverage standards they cannot meet that is not the same for straight or gay women.
The filing in the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says the city is violating theirs and other gay men’s civil rights by refusing to pay for fertility services that would be covered for other employees — heterosexual women in a relationship as well as gay or single women.
